12. Eternal Kingdom

Yahweh’s promise of Eternal Righteousness. 2Pe 3:13

Eternal Kingdom – Overview

After the Messiah delivers the Kingdom to Yahweh

After the final judgment, at the end of the 1,000 years, only those whose names are in the Lamb’s book of Life will remain in the perfected Kingdom of God.
1Co 15:24-26 Rev 21:27

The Earth is Regenerated

When God’s people are obedient, He not only blesses them but he blesses the land; it becomes more fruitful, like a land ‘flowing with milk and honey’. This principle was first established in the Mosaic covenant and still stands today.
Deu 28:11-13 Rom 8:19-21
Yahweh’s presence will dwell with mankind in a perfect world. Heaven is where Yahweh dwells, so when He descends to earth, Heaven will then be on Earth with mankind.

New Heaven and New Earth

When Yahweh comes down to a new heaven and earth, the New Jerusalem will be the tabernacle of God where He dwells with the Lamb and those whose names are in the Lamb’s book of life.
Rev 21:2-3
  • The former things will not be remembered.
  • Darkness will be gone forever.
  • Righteousness will dwell permanently in this new creation
  • It will be a time of everlasting joy and rejoicing.
Isa 60:19-21 2Pe 3:13 Isa 65:17-19 God and the Lamb will be on the throne and His servants shall see His face and they will reign forever.
Rev 22:3-5
Yahweh God will give His light and the nations shall walk in His Light.
Rev 21:22-24 Luk 2:32

Eternal Life on Earth

There are not many details about life in eternity, however Scripture does say that everyone will be changed to be like the Messiah. With the mind of Christ there will be no more sin and therefore no need for any Law.
Mat 5:18 Ezk 36:27
Everyone will be loving and everyone will be loved in a perfectly righteous world. It may be a perfected version of the 1,000 year reign or maybe something like the Garden of Eden restored.
Act 3:19-21 Rom 8:19-21

I am the Alpha and the Omega

From the beginning to the end, the Word of God, Jesus made flesh, brings Light into the world At the beginning of time God, His Spirit and His Word created the Heavens and the Earth in the Darkness. God spoke the Word that brought Light into the Darkness.
Gen 1:1-4
Thousands of years later, the Word became flesh and Jesus said that He was the Light of the World.
Jhn 9:4-5 2Co 4:6
At the end, the Eternal Kingdom will be illuminated by the glory of God, the Lamb. No more darkness, forever!
Rev 21:23 Rev 21:5-7

Prophesied

Isa 66:22-23
“As the new heavens and the new earth which I will make,
shall remain before Me,” says Yahweh, “so shall
your descendants and your name remain.
And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
All flesh shall come to worship before Me,
says Yahweh.”

Prayed

Mat 6:9-10
“In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Predicted

Rom 8:20-21
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly,
but because of Him who subjected it in hope;
because the creation itself also
will be delivered from the bondage of corruption

into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Perfected

Rev 21:2-3
Then I, John, saw the holy city,
New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying,
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men,
and He will dwell with them,
and they shall be His people.
God Himself will be with them and be their God.

Prophetic Patterns in Yahweh’s Word

There are limited verses that describe the Eternal Kingdom – the new Heaven and Earth. However, the bible does describe plenty of places which Yahweh promises to His people. The Promised Land is one such place and the garden of Eden is another. These promises describe places where God’s ways are followed and so they can also give us insights into the 1,000 year reign of the Messiah and ultimately, the new Heaven and Earth.

Fruitfulness in the Promised Land and the Kingdom of God

Yahweh redeemed Israel from the bondage of Egypt and led them to the Promised Land. It is described as a land flowing with milk and honey.
Lev 20:24 Deu 11:11-15
Likewise, Jesus is redeeming believers from the bondage of sin and death and will lead them into the Kingdom of God.
Gal 5:1 Ezk 34:25-27

Conquering the Promised Land and Kingdom of God

Just as Yahweh promised to remove the Canaanites from the Promised Land, the Messiah will remove the anti-Christ and all those who oppose Him from the kingdom of God.
Isa 24:21-23 Dan 7:26-27

Peace and Safety in the Promised Land and Kingdom of God

Yahweh promised safety in the Promised Land.
Lev 26:5-6
Similarly, peace is promised in the Kingdom of God.
Isa 2:2-4

The Garden of Eden is also compared to the Kingdom of God

This is another example of prophetic patterns that Yahweh places in His Word to give greater insights and understanding. The garden of Eden was the place where Yahweh said it was, “Very Good”!
Ezk 36:33-35 Gen 1:31
