God’s Word Creates – Overview

Creation – Let there be Light:

It is by His Word that God created the heavens and the earth:
  • The Spirit of God hovered over the waters while darkness covered the deep.
  • Then God’s Word brought the heavens and earth into existence
  • God said, “Let there be Light!” – and Light blazed forth.
  • God saw the Light, declared it good, and separated Light from darkness.
  • He named the Light “Day” and the Darkness “Night.”
From that very first day, God committed to transforming this dark world into His radiant Kingdom – Paradise filled with nothing but His Light. 1Jo 1:5

God is Light:

God sends His Light into a dark world and begins a pattern which runs all the way to the last chapter of Revelation. In this context, darkness simply means life without God. Every sunrise proclaims the same glorious truth: God’s Light always conquers darkness. Therefore, when believers feel surrounded by darkness they can hold on to one truth: Light will always break through!

Here’s how scripture shows it step by step:

  • First, God spoke the first command: “Let there be Light!”
    Gen 1:1-5
  • Next, David sang: “Yahweh God is my Light and Salvation.”
    Psa 27:1
  • Then, Jesus shone as the Light of the world – yet they rejected Him.
    Jhn 1:4-5
  • However, His disciples are to shine as Lights to glorify God
    Mat 5:16
  • After that God’s Word, the Messiah, will return to Jerusalem so that Gentiles can come to His Light.
    Isa 60:1-3
  • Finally,Yahweh himself will become the everlasting Light.
    Isa 60:19-20 Rev 22:5

So from the very first day of creation, God’s Word promised this: One day His Light will cover the whole earth, forever.

These Sections are expanded below:

  • Creation: God’s Word creates everything
  • Sin and Death: From Adam, Sin’s deception separates mankind from God – physical and spiritual death, darkness without God’s light.
  • The Word made flesh: However, Yahweh has His plan to reconcile mankind to Himself through His Son, Jesus, His Word made flesh.
  • The Word is King of kings: And finally Yahweh sends His Word to return and reign on earth

Takeaways

Beliefs

The four main stages of God’s plan:
  1. Creation: The Word was foreordained before the foundation of the world
  2. Salvation The Word was sent in the flesh, for the salvation of everything He had created.
  3. Kingdom: The Word of God will return to establish the Kingdom of God and prepare His spotless bride.
  4. Eternity: Then God returns and dwells with the Lamb (Jesus) and mankind on earth, exactly as it says in the Word of God.
    Rev 21:23-24

Action:

Whenever the Bible says, “The Word of the LORD….”, sometimes it was instructions/prophecy for:

  1. when the prophet was living
  2. when the Son of God would come down on earth to Save
  3. when the Word of God will return to Judge and give Eternal Life on earth.

Creation – Details

The Word of Yahweh created the world

God said,

Let there be Light

In the beginning God’s Word created the heavens and earth, through the declaration of His Word. He formed Adam from the dust of the earth and breathed the breath of life into Him. He then placed Adam and Eve and two unique trees in the garden of Eden; the tree of life, which would provide eternal life for Adam and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
Jhn 1:1-5 Gen 2:7 Gen 2:9
God walked in the garden and talked with Adam and Eve, commanding them to be fruitful and multiply. His plan was to fill the earth with people made in His image, and this has not changed.
Gen 1:27-28 Gen 22:17-18

Sin and Death – Details

Temptation in the Garden of Eden

Fall of Mankind; Serpent, Deception, Sin and Death of Adam and Eve

Sin leads to
separation from God
and death of the physical body

The serpent deceived mankind

First, the serpent deceived Adam and Eve. Then he tempted them to eat the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Because they chose to believe the serpent instead of God, Yahweh immediately banished them from the garden of Eden. As a result, mankind lost two priceless gifts:
  • Full access to God’s presence – spiritual death
  • Eternal life through the Tree of Life – physical death
Gen 3:22-23 Ecc 12:7 Exo 33:20

What happens next after creation…

After Adam and Eve, mankind continued to rebel against God and His ways.

The Word of Yahweh made Flesh

The Word of God:
In the beginning was the Word – the Word made flesh – King of kings

The Word - Creation - Cross - 1,000 Year Reign - Eternity

The Word made Flesh Redeems
The Word of God Restores

The Son of God

Despite mankind’s disobedience, Yahweh God had already prepared His perfect plan of reconciliation – right from Eden! First, He promised that the Seed of the woman would come. Then, through Eve came Seth, then Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob (Israel), the tribe of Judah, and King David. Finally, from David’s royal line, Mary gave birth to God’s own Son – Jesus the Messiah, the Word of Yahweh made flesh. Jesus will return as King of the Jews to Israel before reaching out to the nations. This promise began in Genesis and it is partially fulfilled. Next, the Messiah returns and establishes God’s Kingdom on earth!
Gen 3:15
Despite mankind’s continual rebellion, Yahweh’s Word made flesh, Jesus (the Lamb of God), will enable mankind to be reconciled to God by taking away the sin of the world.
Jhn 1:29

The Word of God – King of Kings

In the beginning was the Word

The Word that created the world in the beginning, is the same Word that was made flesh, born of Mary and called Jesus.
Jhn 1:1-5 Jhn 1:14 Col 1:15-17
He was born from King David’s line, and is destined to reign as King forever when He returns as King of kings.
Luk 1:30-33 Rev 19:11-16

The Hope from the Beginning:

When Jesus the Messiah, the Word of God made flesh, returns as the King of Kings, He will remove all rebellious evil from the world, so that people will be free to believe and be blessed unhindered.
No more Death, Tree of life, The Word of God, King of kings, Rapture, 1,000 Year Reign - Eternity

and Lord of lords

The Restored Garden of Eden

Then Yahweh God, in all His glory will once again be able to dwell among mankind in a restored Garden of Eden with the tree of life – Paradise. There will no longer be a need for the Holy of Holies and a priesthood with sacrifices. This time His Light will blaze bright forever.
Gen 28:14 Rev 2:7 Rev 21:23

Exodus Principles – Light in the Darkness

Light and Darkness – Patterns in Yahweh’s Word

The bible uses Light as a metaphor for Yahweh/Jesus and portrays Darkness for evil.
  • God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. – 1Jn 1:5
  • Jesus says “I am the light of the world.” – Jhn 8:12
  • Men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.- Jhn 3:19
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and by His Word said, “Let there be light.” The Light was separated from the darkness.”
Gen 1:3-4
In the end of the Book, Light again is present and dispels the darkness forever.
Rev 21:23-24 Rev 22:5
Yahweh is constantly bringing His Light into the world but the world often chooses to live in Darkness. This leads to death without eternal life with Yahweh. The Egyptian plagues is a good example of this.

Darkness, the 9th plague in Egypt

Yahweh told Pharaoh to let His people go, but Pharaoh refused. Yahweh did not only want to deliver His People from Egyptian bondage, He also wanted Pharaoh and the Egyptians to know Him. Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that He could demonstrate His power and then they would know Him.
Exo 7:1-5

8 Egyptian plagues and knowing Yahweh

“Knowing Yahweh” was mentioned in the plagues and there is evidence that Yahweh was being known by some. However, Pharaoh persisted in choosing his darkness instead of submitting to the Light of Yahweh.

  1. Water to Blood
Exo 7:17 — “By this you shall know that I am Yahweh…”

  2. Frogs
Exo 8:10 — “…that you may know that there is no one like Yahweh our God.”

  3. Lice / Gnats
Exo 8:19 -“…The magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh did not heed them.”

  4. Flies
Exo 8:22 — “…in order that you may know that I am Yahweh in the midst of the land.”

  5. Livestock Disease
Exo 9:14 — “…that you may know that there is none like Me in all the earth.”

  6. Boils
    (No phrase about knowing Yahweh)

  7. Hail
Exo 9:14 — “…that you may know that there is none like Me in all the earth.”
Exo 9:29 — “…that you may know that the earth is Yahweh’s.”

  8. Locusts
Exo 10:2 — “…that you may know that I am Yahweh.”

9. Plague of Darkness

Pharaoh still refused to let the Israelites go and Yahweh brought darkness over the land for three days. It was a thick darkness which may even be felt in all the land of Egypt. (This was a direct challenge to the Egyptian gods of the sun.) Only Yahweh is true Light and without Yahweh there is no light. This plague of darkness was Yahweh’s warning to the Egyptians before His final 10th plague.

10. Plague – Death of the first born

Pharaoh was considered to be a god and Osiris was the god of the afterlife. Yahweh proved these gods to be powerless. There was no communication about knowing Yahweh – Yahweh’s judgement was permanent; all the first born of the Egyptians died in one night. This contrasts with the previous plagues which were transitory warnings. Those who rebel against Yahweh, and choose to live in darkness, have no hope of Eternal Life – permanent separation from God’s eternal Light.

Plagues in the Last Days

In Revelation, a similar pattern is followed; warnings (plagues and bowls of wrath) are followed by judgement – eternal destruction for the wicked!
