5. Son of God and Man

Yahweh’s Presence: In heaven
Son of God & Man – Overview
Son of God and Son of Man – Background
In the garden of Eden, Adam’s sin separated Mankind from both Yahweh and the Tree of Life. However Yahweh promised that He would send a Son of Man to defeat the serpent through the seed of the woman, the Son of Man would be the Messiah and the Son of God.
586 years Before Christ, the glory of Yahweh left King Solomon’s temple because of Judah’s terrible idolatry and their defilement of God’s house. A remnant of Judah were exiled to Babylon but Yahweh promised that they would be restored in Israel. Although the temple was rebuilt, there is no record of the glory of Yahweh returning to dwell in it.
586 years later, while that 2nd temple was still standing, God the Father sent His Son Jesus, to restore Mankind’s relationship with His Father and to bring Eternal Life back into the world. Jesus said the temple was desolate, a den of thieves and prophesied that it would be destroyed. The Romans completely destroyed it AD70 and it has not been replaced to this day.
These are the key stages of the Messiah’s mission, revealed in Scripture, and will be finished when He returns:
Already Completed
- The Cross and Resurrection
- Ascension and Intercession
- The Holy Spirit Descends to Earth
The Messiah is coming:
- Returns to Earth
- Harvests Believers
- Judges the Wicked
- Reigns on Earth – Israel
- Extends His Reigns – Gentile Nations
- Judges all Mankind
- Reigns withYahweh who Returns to Earth
For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but
have everlasting life.
The Son of God on the Cross & His Resurrection
Jesus, the Son of both God and man, lived a faithful, sinless life but despite this, the Jewish authorities falsely accused Him of rebellion against Rome. They were threatened by His popularity and His teaching. The Romans then crucified Him and nailed His ‘crime’ to the cross – ‘King of the Jews’. However, He was innocent of that accusation because His Kingdom was not of this world and was no threat to the Roman Empire.
Death had no justification to keep Him in the grave nor to separate Him from His Father nor from eternal life because Jesus had not sinned. After His death, Jesus was able to be in the presence of God, His Father because Death could not hold Them apart!
He ascended up into heaven
and Yahweh seated Him
at His right hand
where He makes intercession
for the salvation of the elect.
Ascension and Intercession of the Son of Man
Jesus, the Lamb of God, who was slain for the sin of the world, rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven where Yahweh dwells. He is now seated at the right hand of Yahweh God.
The Messiah who is to come, is currently interceding for the salvation of everyone, Jews and Gentiles, who believe in the God who so loved the world…
The Holy Spirit Descends to Earth
God sent His Holy Spirit to live within believers, making them His Temple on earth. So God’s presence is still on earth helping every believer after His Son ascends to heaven.
The Messiah returns with His armies
to conquer and de-throne
the god of this age.
The Messiah Returns to the Earth
God Alrighty sends His Messiah to reclaim dominion over the Earth from the ruler of this age, the Devil.
Harvest of Believers
When the Messiah’s returns, He resurrects and regenerates believers as the firstfruits of the harvest of believers. – ‘Firstfruits’ implies that the main harvest is still to come, and that will be at the end of the 1,000 years.
Messiah Judges The Rebellious Wicked
After the Messiah returns, He will judge and condemn those following Satan’s Beast. He then takes away their dominion and gives it to the Saints of the Most High, as it was in the beginning with Adam.
Messiah Reigns on earth – Israel
First the Messiah returns to Israel to reigns from Jerusalem and then He gathers the two scattered kingdoms of Israel and Judah to unite them in the land.
Then Yahweh makes a New Covenant with Israel and puts His Torah in their hearts and minds, so that they can keep it. (This is prophesied extensively in the Hebrew Scriptures.)
During that time the combined nation of Israel keep the Torah with Jesus, the Son of David ruling over them. As a result, the Deuteronomy law, ‘Blessings follow Obedience’, takes effect and Israel and their land become abundant, fruitful and peaceful, as prophesied.
Messiah Reigns on earth – Gentile Nations
Then Messiah, the Son of David, extends His rule over every nation, tribe, tongue, and people, along with His immortal Saints.
At that time the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh as the waters cover the sea, and Israel will and keep His Torah ie How to love God and one-another.
Messiah Judges all Mankind
The final harvest of believers will be at the end of the 1,000 year reign. Then after judging the wicked, the Messiah completes His restoration of all creation and delivers the new Heaven and Earth to God the Father.
Yahweh Returns to the Earth
Yahweh God will return and dwell with humanity in a restored creation, similar to the Garden of Eden, the Kingdom of God on earth.
