Yahweh’s Presence: In Heaven Isa 66:1

Mankind Rebels – Overview

Sin comes into the World

From the time of Adam, people continued to follow their own desires and became so evil that God flooded the earth. Mankind still continued in its evil ways and God chose one man, Abraham, to be the father of a new nation. Gen 28:14 This section covers:
  • The flood
  • The Tower of Babal
  • The people are scattered

God’s solution:

  • Abraham – God calls a man in Ur
  • Jacob – God calls a family in Canaan
  • Israel – God calls a nation in Egypt
  • Messiah – God calls the World

Takeaways

Beliefs

  • The problem of sin:
  • Sin entered the world through Adam and death was the consequence. Every sin causes physical death and spiritual death that separates us from God — but God provided a way back by sending His Son.
    Rom 5:12 Rom 5:19
  • God’s solution:
  • God sent His Son, Jesus, to suffer and die on the cross. Because His life was without sin, death had no power over Him and He became the first human being to be resurrected and eternal life with God was restored.
    Rom 6:23 1Co 15:20-21
Eternal life and relationship with God comes, not from your deeds, but from believing in Jesus, who restores the relationship that your sin broke.
    2Co 5:21 Jhn 3:16

Actions:

Recognise that even your best efforts fall short — salvation comes through believing and repenting:
  1. Believe

  2. Confess Jesus as Lord of your life, and believe that just as God raised Him from the dead, He will also raise you.
    Rom 10:9-10
  3. Repent

  4. Determine to turn from sinful ways and look to follow God’s ways found in His Word.
    Act 3:19
  5. Follow

  6. Salvation is evidenced by those who are obeying God and following Christ Jesus, who did His Father’s work.
    Eph 2:8-10

The Tower of Babel

Yahweh God repopulated the earth with Noah’s descendants who then decided to build the Tower of Babel (Babylon). They wanted to make a name for themselves to avoid being scattered over the whole earth. This was in rebellion to God’s command to Adam to fill the earth.

God Scatters Mankind over the Earth

God wanted mankind to multiply and to fill the earth so He confused their speech and scattered them. This was the beginning of the nations on earth.
Gen 11:9

What happened next…

Abraham

God then chose the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to be His special people, Israel.
