10. The Word Conquers

Yahweh’s Presence End Times: On His throne Rev 19:4

The Word Conquers – Overview

The Word’s Mission

The Messiah’s mission is to fully restore the kingdom of God on earth, as prophesied.
Dan 7:13-14 Eph 1:9-10
However, before He can establish the kingdom on earth, He has to first defeat the principalities and powers that are ruling in the world. This work started at the cross and He finishes it when He returns.
Col 2:15 Eph 6:11-12

The Word of God Returns

The Messiah returns to earth with His armies – the glorified saints and angels. Then the power of God’s Word defeats the forces of darkness and His light shines over the nations.
Mat 24:29-31 Rev 19:11-16
This section covers:
  • The start of the Messiah’s Mission to restore the kingdom
  • God’s Wrath on the powers and authorities and also the rebellious wicked
  • Dominion over the earth passes from the forces of darkness (Satan) to the Messiah
    Luk 4:5-6 Eph 2:1-7
By conquering the forces of darkness, the Messiah becomes King of kings and Lord of lords over the whole earth. For the next 1,000 years His priority is to restore the kingdom of God on earth and save the elect. That story is told in the next page: 11. The Kingdom Comes

Takeaways

Beliefs

  • There are different understandings about the timing of the ‘rapture’, however there is more agreement that the glorified saints are with the Messiah when He returns.
    1Th 3:13
We may not all agree on the exact timing of the ‘rapture’ until it happens.

  • Similarly, there are different understandings about the 1,000 years; however there is agreement about judgement and eternal condemnation at the Messiah’s return. Again we will find out if it is the final judgment or if there is 2nd judgement after 1,000 years.
  • In the parable of the faithful and wicked servants, it is worth noting that when the Master returns:
    • the ‘faithful servant’ is the one who stays and rules for the Master.
    • the ‘one taken’ is the one who is killed and has eternal condemnation.

Actions:

  • There is agreement about helping people into the kingdom before the Messiah returns.
  • Whatever your end times beliefs are, it is still worthwhile reading the prophetic scriptures and working out how you think they could be fulfilled.
The word of Yahweh does not return empty! Isa 55:11
  • Jesus and Paul told believers to watch, be ready and to not be deceived.
    Mat 24:11-14 2Th 2:3-4

The Word Conquers – Details

The Messiah’s Mission

The Messiah returns and brings an end to the great Tribulation.
Mat 24:15-22
When the Messiah was born, He was named Jesus, which means ‘Yahweh Saves’. The next time He comes, it is to Judge and Reign as King of kings and Lord of lords; however, no one knows His name, yet. He is also called Faithful and True and the Word of God.
Rev 19:11-16
Before the Messiah can establish His Kingdom on earth, He has to conquer the ruling authorities of this age who are causing the great Tribulation. They are in rebellion against God, His ways and His people. They are led by Satan and the anti-Christ (the Beast), assisted by Kings (leaders) and supported by many people in the nations.
Rev 20:1-3
Yahweh, God the Father, sends His Son, in His name, to Judge the Wicked and remove this rebellious evil from the earth.
Isa 66:15-18

What happens after this…

All nations shall flow to the mountain of Yahweh's house — His Finished Work

Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh

And we shall walk in His paths.

There are four basic stages that herald in the New Heaven and Earth with Yahweh. They are covered in the next two pages.
